​April 2023, we visited our first dog show on a sports ground outside a Mifal HaPais(national lottery) community center in Holon. Unlike international shows, there was no brightly-coloredcarpet laid out; yet still there was a large number of people and dogs who gave an impressiveshowing. To us as photographers, it was a stunning display. One of the things that surprised uswas the impossible contrast between the decidedly Israel setting and the elegance of the dogsand their owners, which gave the feeling of an international event. Soon we found ourselvesdrawn into this world, driving every Saturday to shows in the farthest corners of the country.
